  A few days ago, Sina Auto learned exclusively that Liu Changqing, the current general manager of FAW Pentium Car Co., Ltd., will be transferred to the strategic management and business planning department of FAW Group as the general manager; Yang Dayong, deputy general manager of FAW Pentium Car Co., Ltd., who is in charge of marketing, was transferred to Mazda Marketing Division.

  Pentium and Mazda were previously owned by FAW Car. After the adjustment, Mazda’s business segment will be directly under the responsibility of FAW Group, and within the group, it will rise to the same management level as FAW Volkswagen and FAW Toyota, while Pentium will be juxtaposed with Hongqi and independent of each other.

  Sui Zhongjian will be the deputy general manager of FAW Pentium Car Co., Ltd., presiding over the work; Wang Shengli took over as the deputy general manager of FAW Pentium Car Co., Ltd. and presided over the marketing of Pentium.

  Under the leadership of Liu Changqing and Yang Dayong, the main leaders of the original management team, and under the guidance of the overall strategy of FAW Group, FAW Pentium has realized the transformation of Pentium brand, products and sales.

  At the brand level, the core of the Pentium brand has been reshaped, focusing on youthfulness and the integration of things. On October 17, 2018, the development strategy of the "New Pentium" brand was released, and the newly designed Pentium new LOGO "Window of the World" was officially launched, and the Pentium brand showed a new image. At the same time, in the value system of the new Pentium brand, the new Pentium regards "the pioneer of the Internet of Things car" as the positioning and pursuit of the brand.

  At the product level, Pentium brand upgraded its products, built a T series product matrix, planned four product lines, namely B, E, S and T, and built two platforms, FMA and FME, to support the subsequent vehicle development.

  In terms of sales volume, the Pentium brand is climbing steadily and outperforming the general trend. In 2019, the annual sales volume of FAW Pentium reached 120,500 units, up 33% year-on-year; In the first quarter of 2020, under the circumstance that the overall automobile market in China was in a downturn and the epidemic situation was "worse", FAW Pentium rose against the trend and achieved double-digit growth, with a cumulative terminal sales volume of 22,006 vehicles, up 12% year-on-year; In April 2020, the sales volume of FAW Pentium reached 7,233 units, up 14% year-on-year.

  According to the strategic deployment of FAW Group, FAW, as the cradle of new China automobile industry, will unswervingly become stronger, better and more independent, and Pentium will be cultivated into an excellent brand of mass mainstream passenger cars.
