It is reported that at 7: 45 am local time on the 26th, a fire broke out in Daejeon Outlet Shopping Mall, about 160 kilometers south of Seoul. After the accident, 126 firefighters and more than 40 fire-fighting equipment put out the fire in the fire.
As of 11: 41 am local time, a man in his fifties was found dead, and another man in his thirties was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, and was later declared dead. According to the fire department, another man in his forties is being treated for serious injuries. Four other employees are still missing and firefighters are searching urgently. However, the search and rescue operation is difficult because of a large amount of smoke from the burning of cartons in the underground cargo handling area of shopping malls.
According to the report, due to the fire, 110 guests and hotel employees were evacuated from the accommodation facilities around the outlet. When the fire broke out, there were no foreign customers in the store because it was not open for business.
According to reports, the local fire bureau initially believed that the fire may be caused by the explosion of an electric car charged in the underground parking lot of the mall. At present, the bureau is conducting further investigation on the specific cause of the fire.
