Rule: The Oscar Film Handbook invites 12 senior film critics to rate the nine films shortlisted for the Oscar for Best Film. Each short-listed film is divided into seven items: directing technique, script, art direction, photography, editing/sound effect editing, soundtrack/sound effect editing and performance, with a score of 5 points for each item and a total score of 35 points.
